The internet is a wonderful place. All you need in order to make money with article writing is a computer, an internet connection, and a desire to succeed. But there are a few more things you need. The truth is, if you don't have something to sell, you cannot make money from home. Many people fail to succeed online because they do not understand this. In order to generate income with articles, you will need to follow these proven steps:
1. Create a product or promote an affiliate product. This goes back to my point above. You need to sell something in order to make money. If you don't have a product of your own, you can sign up with ClickBank and promote one of the many thousands located on their marketplace. If you decide to promote an affiliate product, be sure to check that it is selling well. Also, be sure to match up your product with the topic you are writing about. If you are trying to sell a "wood working" e-book, but your topic is "building chicken coops," you won't do very well.
2. Create an email marketing funnel to promote your products and services to. People do not generally purchase something until they have seen it several times. Creating your very own email newsletter campaign will ensure that they are exposed to your product over and over again. Eventually, if you have created good email copy, they will buy your product. But how do you get them on your list in the first place?
3. Create a lead capture page and start writing articles that link to that page. This is how you will get people to join your mailing list and begin receiving your emails. A lead capture page is a simple web page that consists of a strong title, bullet points, and a call to action. The title should compel them to want more information, the bullet points should tell them what they will receive once they have subscribed to your mailing list, and the call to action will get them to join it.
Your articles should teach people something related to your niche topic. For example, if you were in the dog training niche, you could write an article about "7 Effective Steps to Stop Your Dog from Chewing." Do you see what I'm getting at? Write articles that teach people something, and then tell them to click through to your lead capture page. This is when they will decide whether or not they want to join your list and buy your products.
